New Music

Along with writing, the other main reason I got this new, way-too-expensive computer was for producing music. Back in the ’90s, I used to make Nine Inch Nails-inspired electronic music using a cheap, toy Casio keyboard and a dual-tape-deck Karaoke machine (which could simulate a multi-track recording device by “bouncing” the tracks back-and-forth between tape decks). This new computer is… slightly more advanced. It’s got a bit of a learning curve.

Anyway, while playing around with it, I managed to hack together a couple tracks that do a pretty good job of recreating the style of that ’90s stuff I made back in the day.

Decaying Circuit

and

Dusty Strings

The names don’t really have any meaning. They’re just names of default midi instruments that came with GarageBand. Anyway, enjoy!
